In this section, I will write about books I read, publish my writing and talk about the things I learn during Literacy Block.

Reading Response

On Friday, 14 November I did a reading response and I am going to write about to write about it for you. Today I read The Third Prince by Rachel Flynn. My favourite character is Glori because she is the only character I have met. This section makes me wonder if the prince will come to Glori. Now I am going to read the blurb because if you want to get the book you know what it is about... When princess Glori wishes for a charming prince and he doesn't turn up, she becomes impatient and wishes again. And again... Will Glori ever find her true prince?

Irate this book 7 out of 10. These are the insturtions for the wishing seeds... Wishing seeds Just seal each with a wishing kiss and tell to it your secret wish then throw it to the whispering wind and wait for what the wind will bring. I think that Glori's wish will come true but I will just have to keep reading on.

Reading Response

On Thursday, 6 November I did a reading response this is what I wrote. Today I read Surviving Sydney Cove The Diary Of Elizabeth Harvey by Goldie Alexander. My favourite character is Elizabeth she is the only character I have met. I am going to read the blurb because it tells you about the book. Lizzie Harvey, a convict transported to Sydney Cove, is staving and overworked. She has to fetch the water, mend clothes, please her Master, care for his China-doll daughter and tiptoe around his moody soldier son. She can barley find time to dream about the way things used to be, let alone write in her diary. But write she must. It is her only hope of reaching out to the home she has left behind, all those thousands of miles away across the sea. This is my least favourite line... His eyes followed my gaze and I felt his shock at glimpsing my scarred toes. He demanded to now how this had happened. I rate this book 8 out of 10. That was my reading response hope you liked it.

An Evening With Roald Dahl

Wednesday night,5 November our whole school had a play about all of Roald Dahls books at Ormiston College. Our class did The Twits. I was Mrs. Twit. There were 4 Mrs. Twits the people who played them were Me, Sofia, Chloe and Imogen and the Mr. Twits were Jacob, Matt, Jake and Tim. The scenes that we did in order was the introduction with Sofia and Jacob. The next scene was the glass eye with Chloe and Tim. Than the frog in the bed with Imogen and Jake. Then it was the Wormy spaghetti with me and Matt. Then there was the ending with the monkey who were played by Monique, Will, Denzel, Braiden, Ryan H and Ryan W. The birds were Amara, Reihana, Emily, Amy and Brillie and of course the fantastic singing Roley poly bird who was played by Micheal. When we finished we did a really funny dance with the Monkeys, The Twits and The Birds. The other plays were The Witches, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, The BFG, and James And The Giant Peach. Myst

I am going to talk about what I wrote about Myst island on Thursday, 18Th September.
I can hear a noise it sounds like a whale and it is very happy. I am looking down and I can see a circular building and it is being held up by cogs and water is surrounding the building. What is on my right is it a castle. The sea is so pretty it is glittery and it has shadows and the water is sparing on me. The checked floor reminds of a kitchen floor. There is a hall way it is so skinny i can hardly move left or right. If I go left I will be in a room I would rather be outside. I am in a room it has got battling stuff in it can I touch stuff. I can see a monkey face I reach out to touch the face it is old and hairy. As I sit in the throne I can see everything. There is a telescope I go to look in it i can't it is just all blur. Cathrine is a pale lady she has got black hair and a very big dress. I can see a picture, a bird, books, clock, telescope, lights, shapes in glass and the space ship and sunken ship. The music sounds like chimes, drums and a violin. It seems that every painting has lights on either side. Is this Atris? This man is very light skinned and is wearing red, white and black and is holding a stick and I feel powerful like him. That is my Myst writing please leave a comment.

Myst

When I switch them green something else behind it is caching my eye it is the greenish blueish glittery sea I open up a book and see very precious and old pages with really good hand writing. If those monkey people are still on the island then i have been watched. If this is an old book the pages look as if they have just been put in. If after I read this book maybe the giant tree elevator will work I might be able to see the monkey people and see if there are more humans on the island. Maybe there is two books that keep on going with this story maybe the second one is burned like all the other books so how do I get all the information. I am a god to the monkey people. I would not want to be that man because he got burned. The writing has suddenly turned blue wow I like that colour of ink. The writing after the blue ink is green ink. His children are Sirrus and Achenar. This age is called Channelwood. Lots of people die in this book it must be a very bad life. As I look up I can see leaves and a bubble protecting the leaves.

Today I read Endangered by Rick Wilkinson
I did not Know that there are only 7500 tigers and less than 7000 snow leopards in the wild. I taught that it was sad that the stuttering frog is only found in small parts of New South Wales and has disappeared from Victoria. I taught it was sad and interesting that there are about 100 wombats alive. Thank you for reading responce

Today I read Bratz Cool Cruise by Chirstine Peymani. I think that it is funny that Cloe, Yasman, Jade and Sasha talk about swim suits. I think that Cloe, Yasman, Jade and Sasha are excited that they are going on a world wide cruise all summer long for a T.V show. The Bratz have been on anther show called America Rocks Fashion you can get it on Ds as a game. Now I am going read a bit were they talking about swim suits because it is funny: Jade strolled into Beachcomber, a cute new swimwear shop, where she spotted a sweet little pink-and-green-striped bikini. she was searching through the racks for a coordinating sarong when suddenly someone coveredher eyes."Guess who!" Cloe called. Jade turned around to see her best friends standing behind her. "Wow that was fast!". "Hey when the mall calls, who are we to drag our feet?" Sasha replied. "Just let me try on this swimsuit, and then we'll go in search of some nautical gear," Jade told her friends. "Oh, but do you girls need new swimsuits, too?". I am up to page 9. I am 2 pages away from chapter 2. If I had to be a character in the book I would be all of the the bratz because they go on a lot of around the world T.V shows.

Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe

In class the book that we are reading is Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe by C.S Lewis. My favourite character is Lucy because she found Narnia in a very interesting way. If I had to be a character in the book I would be Peter because he is the eldest and he always belives in Lucy. My least favourite character is the Proesser because he is not menchend in the book much. The story is about 4 kids Lucy, Peter, Susen and Edmand and theygo therw a cupboard and find a new world called Narnia. I would recamend this book to people who like fantesys. The chapter that we are up to is chapter 10 The Spell Begins To Break.

Reading Response

Today I read Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. By J.K Rowling.
My favourite character is Harry because he is the main character. If I had to be character in the book I would be Fred and George because they pull alot of jokes and tricks. The character I don't like is Draco Malfoy because he is mean to Harry and Ron. The chapter I am up to is chapter nine Midnight Duel. I have got 3 in a half pages until I am up to chapter ten Hallowe'en. Thank you for reading my reading response.

Feeding The Sharks

One of the things we did at Under Water World was feed the sharks. We fed the sharks with prawns. When we threw the prawns in all the sharks went to fight over the prawns. I didn't now that sting rays eat prawns. Our tour guide Tracy-Ann dropped a prawn on the first step and ate it it was scary because it was so close to Reihana and I. One of the sharks jumped up and ate the prawn in the air and made a big splash. If I was a shark I would love to be fed. When we were done feeding the sharks our hands smelt like fish because of the prawns that we were holding and we cleaned them by putting them in the touch tank.

Sleeping Under The Sharks

Sleeping under the sharks was an exciting and incredible experience. When I put my head on my pillow I could see coral, fish, sleeping fish, bubbles, blue and colourful lights, sleeping bags, pillows, glass, water, teachers and parents. It was as if I was a fish as well. I felt tired, excited, happy, scared, angry, hot and cold. The things I heard were laughs, burps, bubbles, tanks, sleeping bags, whispers and loud talking. I had trouble going to sleep because of all the noise, loud talks and whispers. The most important feeling I felt was how lucky I was to be sleeping with the sea creates. I taught it would be distracting sleeping under the fish but it wasn't and it was a fantastic experience and I would love to do it again.

On Wednesday the 21st of May I did a reading responses on Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone by J.K Rowling. I am going to right what my reading responses says. I like it when the sorting hat sings a song before he sorts them into the houses. The school houses are Gryffindor,Ravenclaw,Hufflepuff and slytherin. I liked it when the sorting hat put Harry,Hermione and Ron in Gryffindor. My favourite character is Harry because he has a lot of magic in him. I am up to chapter 7 almost 8. There are 223 pages in the book. So that his my reading responses hope you liked it.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone

I am reading Harry potter and The Philosopher's Stone. My favourite part is when the sorting hat sings a song to the first years at Hogwarts School and I am going to tell you what he sang: Oh you may not think I am pretty but don't judge on what you see I will eat myself if you can find a smarter hat than me. you can keep your bowlers black your top hat sleeks a tall for I am the Hogwarts Sorting hat and I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head the sorting hat can't see so try me on and I can tell you where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor where dwell the brave at heart their darling nerve and chivalry set Gryffindor apart. You might belong in Hufflepuff where they are just and loyal those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil. or yet in wise old Ravenclaw if you've a ready mind where those of wit and learing will always find their kind. Or perhaps in Slytherin you'll make your real friends those cunning folks use any means to achieve their ends. So put me on! don't be afraid! and don't get in a flap! your in safe hands (though I have none) for I am a thinking cap!.

It is along song I know. My favourite charter is Harry because he is the main charter and he is full of magic. my least favourite charter is Ron because he isn't as smart as Harry and Hermione. The chapter that I am up to is chapter 8 and it is called The Potions Master. If I had to be a charter in the book and why I whould be Harmione because she is very smart for her age and she is the best freind of Harry and Ron. Hope you like about the story I am reading if you want you can read the story as well it is really good for you if you like magic stuff and long chapter books.

Word Wall

Every week we have word wall.Word wall is fun because we learn it a really cool way.Word wall goes like this we have 5 words every week and we have chants three people choose a chant.My favourite chant is move star kisses.There are other ones were you have to do them out of your desk.Word wall is very fun or class loves it.

Kiss Chasey

This book is about a girl called Becky and a boy called Callum.One day Beckey and Callum were having there first kiss together but then they stopped.Then Alex Beckeys best friend said "how about we play kiss chasey".All of there friend started to run.Beckey was hedding for Callum then he tripped.Alex went and got a teacher.The teacher took him to sick bay.A few days later Beckey went to see Callum at his house and found out he broke his coller bone.A few days later Callum went to school and Beckey invited him to her party.then the party came and they went to the movies.When the movie was on Beckey and Callum held hands and it was the best day Beckey every had.
